Foreign entities are responsible for 100,000+ attacks
According to FRA (Swedish National Defence Radio Establishment), foreign powers accounted for over 100,000 attacks against Swedish targets in 2015. That means that each month on average sees about 10,000 attacks, representing an ever-growing threat. The goal is to either access confidential information or utilize computers in Sweden to make further attacks in other countries. In other words, good old-fashioned espionage. A tradition that is unlikely to die out any time soon.
Instead of physical agents, foreign governments can no commission hackings and IT takeovers instead. By routing these attacks through unsuspecting companies in other countries, and with governmental backing, repercussions against such hackers are unlikely, which leaves your security solely in your hands.
Never before in history has cyber security been as important as it is today – truly, it’s a priority you cannot ignore. Physical walls and barriers no longer offer our best protections against those with sinister motives.
Having said all that, what are you doing to strengthen the security of your organization?
